Ríos Tropicales

Rios Tropicales is an eco-adventure company that operates throughout Costa Rica. We offer adventure activities that take advantages of Costa Rica's unique environments: whitewater rafting on eight rivers, multisports activities that feature kayaking, canoeing, hiking and biking, family adventures, cultural encounters, nature and wildlife tours and ¨volun-tourism¨.

For participants of the III International Conference P3-2011, Rios Tropicales, offers a 2-day tour to the World Rafting Championship, leaving October 5th at 8:00 a.m. from EARTH University and finalizing October 6th at 3:00 p.m. returning to San José. With this trip, you will have the opportunity to know the site where the championship will be held, the teams that will participate, the activities, sustainable practices applied and will enjoy the Opening Ceremony of the World Championship. The cost of the tour is as follows:

Special Rates:

$320: for a minimum of 6 persons.
$265: for a minimum of 10 persons.
$230: for 18 personas and up.

Aventuras del Sarapiquí

Aventuras del Sarapiquí was the first whitewater rafting company based on the Sarapiquí River. The company began operation in January of 1993, since then, the company has been dedicated to providing the safest, highest quality river trips possible. Aventuras del Sarapiquí has grown to offer trips on Class I-V sections of the Sarapiquí river, trips in kayaks, canoe and tubing. All the guides are trained in whitewater safety, rescue, and CPR.

Aventuras del Sarapiquí is proud of our reputation for working with diverse clientele. Our guests include people of all ages from 6 years to 97 years old, families, student groups, professional athletes, and corporate groups. We have the ability to work with the specific needs of our clients in providing the safest, most enjoyable trips available.

As a company, we take pride in the protection and maintenance of our local environment. We train and employ local guides and we participate in environmental education and river cleanup activities.

Explornatura was started in 1999 when a Group of adventure enthusiasts came together to create a Company that embodied their spirit.

After 12 years of pouring their blood, sweat, and tears into Explornatura, it has grown quite a bit adding two more partners and a whole array of office staff and adventure guides. As Explornatura has grown over the years, we still strive to maintain a familiar approach to everyone and everything. Our main offices are still located at home, in the heart of the Turrialba Valley. Because of this we have maintained much closer contact with our product and can truly boast that we are experts in the region. Over the years as we have grown as a company, we have also grown in reputation.

We are currently the only company in Costa Rica certified by the American Canyoneering Association, and Ronald and Massi are the two founding members of the Costa Rica Canyoneering Association.
